hi all i have about 15-20 L.Ocellatus babies that are in a 4 foot tank with their parents and i want to catch them and put them into a smaller tank to make is easier to grow and catch them. Does anyone have any tips on how i could catch them???

If they aren't going into shells much any more (which they may not depending on their size), I've had a lot of success in using a small net, gently shepherding them towards the glass, then gently get the net under them (I have sand substrate so I push it under the sand a little), they tend to swim back into the net, at which point you can lift them out.

If they are still small - then distract the mum then take the whole shell.

LOL @Craig. You could even use a net to scoop up the shell, or distract the mum. Or use two nets
