Player_Hater
Hi All Im a bit of a catfish neewbie here tankbuster guy myself. I just got a small 8 or 10cm pictus ornatas.. think thats how u spell it ... looks like the normal pictus but grows larger ... around 25cm's so im told .. anyway in the tank i keep it in its got quite a few little feeders in it ... hockey stick tetras, cherry barbs and guppies. I just noticed that part of its gills have been ripped on the right side and is sticking out a little bit.. its still eating the feeders okay as theres none left in the tank. I thought it might have torn part of its gill on a hockey tetra is they are quite big ..3-4cms long. My question is ... will it grow back or is it stuck with having to grow up wif a partial right gill and most importantly... is there any harmful effects to this fish as it grows .. in the near future when its larger i do intend to put it in a larger tank with my arowana. Any advice would be helpful .. cheers calvin
