fiona
2 males to 6 females works for me.
YeW
1m:2f minimum. Any larger groups with a similar ratio (or more females as Fiona suggests) will also work. Having more than 1 male gets around the troubles with lazy males HTH

Rol&Jas
I prefer 1 male with at least 3 females. When I started with my colony I had 2 males with several females and the males were too busy to display to each other rather than spawning with the females. rick
I started off with 6 juvs, 4 of which turned out to be male and 2 female. This worked OK in my tank, except that 2 of the 4 males would spend a couple of days hiding behind my spray bar while the other 2 males were spawning with the females. I now have 2 males and 2 females and I find this works rather well. The males show off to each other and it makes for an interesting an lively tank. If I was looking to get some more I would probably get more females though. Rick
