mtchye
Hi guys, One of the forum sponsors Sooty was selling them recently. Might be worth contacting him to see if he still has any? HTH Vincent
Lepperfish
Selling the fresh water stingrays mtchye? I was wondering the requirements also.. anyone know much about them?
mtchye
Sorry you may have misunderstood the post. I am not the one selling the stingrays. One of the sponsors of this forum 'Sooty' is the one selling them. Theres a lot of info out there on them. Basically they are pretty hardy but they do come from soft acidic amazonian waters. In a LFS here they keep them with geophagus and some large tetra like species. HTH Vincent

Lepperfish
Checked the link champ, thanks for that.. The stingrays seem really expensive!! Are there any general requirements for them, such as tank size, water conditions, tank mates, ect?
BlakeyBoyR
From what little I know, the freshwater rays are expensive, need a tank with a lot of floor space (so youre looking at a 6' at least I imagine), prestine water and awesome filtration as they are meat eaters. Now I could be wrong, in fact I seem to be making a hobby of being wrong lately. But yeah ... just trying to help
graceless
Hey Lepperfish. I've been thinking about going rays too.... a good article on keeping them is here and a good forum is Aquatic Predators Cheers GRace
Crazyfish
From What ive seen you need at least a 6X2wX18inch high tank, with a sand substrate, and good filtration....even off a breeder you will be looking at spending $600 for a 10cm ray excluding the tail! thats about all i know HTH Daniel
