Guest intelo
Hi there. I have 2 tanks (Both 4 ft long) in my loungeroom. One receives more sunlight and as a result suffers from pretty heavy algae growth. I am loking into purchasing some fish to combat this. In the tank that has the algae problem, I have 1 Salmon Cat (20cm), 1 featherfin Cat (12cm), and 2 clown Loaches (10cm each) Do I get Bristlenose or plecos? What size fish will I need so the salmon cat doesnt think it is lunch time? I have looked around my local aquariums for these and found that anything over 5cm is really hard to find. I am happy to buy from a private seller. Cheers Intelo
katanaone
personally i'd go with the bn's, if you have a spare tank grow some up it wont take long. alternatively switch the salmon cat to the tank without the severe algae problem and add the bn's. Tracid
I just removed one large oscar from my 6ft tank, and added some smaller cichlids and about 16 or 17 small bristle nose. The tank had heaps of well established algae and in about 24hrs its all gone ! I love those guys.......... so yeah i would personally go with Bn but you would have to remove the salmon cat
