Gday, just wondering where the best place is to get some white sand. Im after something with the same grain size of sand and really white. Ive been to a few few local places but its more of a crushed coral or crushed marble and has a larger grain size than sand. Ive also seen pool dust, but thats a bit too fine. any help?...closer to the north shore the better. Thanks

Hi there, just about to setup a tank ive had lying around for about year. Its a 4x2x2 and will be a african display tank. Ive got a eheim 2217 and a ac500 for filtration....both need new media. The ac500 will just be used for mechanical so i was thinking of relaying the carbon media with another foam block thing. Anyother suggestions? Im not sure where to start with the 2217. Im assuming that noodles followed by some course mesh, more noodles and then some finer filter wool? If anyone has any products that works for them please post a link.....ill be ordering this gear online. Also look

Thanks for the replies. For those (if any) who are interested, the tank didnt fit in the commodoore. I couldnt managed to borrow a ute at such short notice and for a Friday so i ended up trying to get the tank into the back seat of the commodoore with Plan B being to hire a ute up the road if all else failed. Well like i said, it failed but im glad i tried. Cheers Michael

Gday, im picking up a 4x2x2 tank soon with a stand. Just wondering if a 4x2x2 tank would fit in the back seat of a Commodoore? Or should i look at getting a ute/van? I dont mind doing 2 trips in my car (one for the stand, one for the tank) if it means i dont have to borrow a mates ute. Cheers Michael

Gday, Ive got out of marine and sold my 6x2x2 and im picking up a 4x2x2 tank in a couple of weeks. Im thinking of having mainly malawi cichlids in there but im also keen to get a few plants. I know its not ideal to keep plants with the higher PH etc, but what sort of lighting should i be looking at? Im looking at keeping harder species of plants, but i still want them to do well. Ive got a 4ft double Aqua One unit but it needs new tubes, is it worth still using this? What tubes are the best for plants? Is there anything worthwhile to add to the substrate? or to the tank in general to help t
