You can silicon it to an anchor that will conceal under subtrate eg. A bit of slate, or tie it to a rock that's already in your tank with fishing line and test the tension in the fishing line once a week. It could take any period of time to stay underwater without an anchor. I'm guessing it's to big to boil?

Matty

can you post a pic and some dimensions

dry wood needs to be weighed down and seasoned

for a few weeks to when ever it soaks up enough

moisture to sink plus it will leach tannin and send

the water brown

not good for an African rift lake tank as it will soften t

he water and drop pH

boiling will help speed things up but without knowing

how large it is ................................

attach some slate or a rock to it. I just soak mine in a barrel until it sinks but you can drill a hole in the slate and use a stainless steel screw.

if it still wont sink try turnin it over an weigh it down you might have an air lock inside the drift wood may be the reason why it wont sink

I tie a rock onto my drift wood usually at the base so its hidden under the substrate. Then after a period of time I can remove the rock and the wood stays down

Above says it all.

But after a week it will slowly drop down its self.

Just has to take in enough water to the dry wood.

If its been in a tank before it should not discolour your water, but I boil or soak mine first.
