YeW
I have used Washed River Sand from Bunnings many times and it is fine. Make sure you wash it well though... I think the name is a bit of a misnomer . HTH
Pierced Soul
Hmmm I'm not sure if it will affect pH. I dont think "washed sydney sand" from bunning will affect pH. If you were to get it from the ebach and it had luittle bits of shell gritt all through it then it may affect it

Guest Gutty
Be warned, don't use a powerhead if using fine grained sand. I've chewed out 2 AC500s since about November. Even with the powerhead off i have problems with sand sifters blowing it into or near the filter intakes. As good as sand looks, all bar my main display tank are going back to gravel. Just my opinion Matt
