johnwilly1000
my silver arowana the left barbel is bent and it looks to be a bit cut from the root. should i leave it and will it recover? or should i take him out and bend it back and cut a bit off, although doing this is a bit hard as fish is pretty big 60cm? fish2die4
arowana barbels are another form of sense they use and they should be able to move them around at will. Does your arowana's move at will or with a current change? Has it broken off before and grown back that way?if so he has probably lostg feeling in that barbel hence the direction it grew. Doesnt matter though He doesnt need it in a tank and its better growing sideways then not growing at all. Also If you want to take a chance at it growing it straight you must cut it off just before the bend but DO NOT cut off the lump on the end of his jaw Or else it wont grow back. Its a bit of a risk and will take about 6 months to grow back and you will probably damage him taking him out of the tank. i hope this info helps Fish2die4
