johnwilly1000
hey guys my aro doesn't seem to like swimming at the top of the water. everytime it goes up there for food it jumps takes it and immediately shoots straight down again. it mostly swims down the bottom and middle of the tank. has anyone had this kind of probblems with there aro before
wiLL
when aros stay at the bottom, usually means that they aren't happy try checking water parameters
Alex
Try increasing the water flow in the tank
Ant
Alex is right, it could be a direct result of your underfiltering. Anthony
johnwilly1000
i think u guys are right about me needing more water flow. i tried putting more water flow and he is swimming around a bit more, but he stills swims around the middle of the tank now and still not the top of the tank
Ducksta
You have to consider, when a lake is 100' deep, things swimming in the top 10' will be considered surface active. Your tank is about 2' deep. To me, 2' below the surface is hardly a mid water swimmer. But I agree with Ant. I think you will be happier long term if you actually take the advice being thrown at you from the start, rather than ignore it, and assume your way is better since your fish haven't upped and died yet. johnwilly1000
thats very good advice ducksta. i think your right about it still being a surface swimmer even though its in middle of tank, cause of height condition
parrdog
jw1000, I hope the good advice from Ducksta you were referring to was the advice that stated that you should start listening to what people say, your fish will hopefully thrive and not simply exist if you do.
