I used the flexible rubber tubing that came with the pump poly barb/thread to suit rubber tubing pvc or poly adapter to suit the bigger diameter of the pvc pipe this is the old setup, and I obviously had a elbow thrown in there aswell.

Also just used 25mm pressure pipe, the thicker wall gives the threaded barbs something to chew on, I drilled a 4mm hole, and I make a thread using a bolt that has the same thread pitch, a cordless drill and a small socket thingy make it heap easier, a quick lick on the thread before you screw it in helps a bit aswell., lol drill, quick in and out with the bolt, hand screw the barb in with the socket, about a minute each. | Also just bought a 100pack of threaded barbs from bunnings, and I use the same irrigation taps that markfnq uses. I have a lp100 pushing into 25mm pvc over three levels, ~ 40m of pipe, into 50 sponges, all are 18-24 inches deep there is heaps left.

Nice trets are pretty good parents, until dad does a midnight snack run. mine were easily producing 200 fry a batch sooooo many little fishes lol... easiest way is day 8 after hatching remove the cave, day 10 they go exploring.. I would warn you but I guess you have seen how protective they can be ( wait till he is 14cm! ouch)

HEy all as the title states I am trying to get a snap shot of what is available in Australia at this time. To do so I have constructed a Poll on Tropheus Fanatics forum.. I wont link directly to it, as I am not allowed to. But if you keep A breeding colony of Tropheus and are not a member of Tropheus Fanantics, It would be great if you could participate in my poll. Thanks, all ADMIN if this is a problem then I understand.. I just want to get the most accurate results I can..

Neolamprologus Tretocephalus Tank Mates
trofius replied to Stretchomatic's topic in Cichlid Discussion
they do get cranky when they breed, but they also get along with anythis really, I find trets are actually pretty sooky compared to a lot of fish.. if they have room, they should be ok i imagine, but any other bluish or stripped fish could be looked on as a threat, as will any rockdweller types that come near their cave ....I would be most worried about the other trets that wont be part of the pair..., in a big enough tank he might serivce a few ladies... just remember they will bred fairly soon, ~7-8cm, And remember they will get big, f to about 10-12cm, m to about 12-15cm. -
congrate on succsecfull spawns mate , they can be hit and miss and very picky about their partners. Pitty we can only get the "kachese" variety in oz. but hey are still very nice tangs..Love the yellow eye shadow! Mine went darker in a darker tank, didnt like the lights much.

Looks good todd Just a bit empty looking, leptos, or tropheus would be a good colony type addition, to add numbers, as would some diagrammas.. HOpefully I will be set up within a moth so you can come have a look see and a chat about Tropheus, or tangs in general.

my lp60 is easily doing 30 sponges lots 2 foot deep I would avoid the pump on the floor. a release valve can be as simple as a flow adjustment valve, without an airline attached, again garden stuff works a treat, and is cheaper than aquarium ones you will probably need valves for air flow adjustment aswell.
