5 FOOT MBUNA SETUP

Gday all :)

I am relative new to the cichlid world

And have been keeping tropical tanks for around 4 years .i have recently went out and bought a new 5 foot aqua one aquience tank and have set up a mabuna only set up .

Here is my set up and i was curious if i could get some feed back on the setup i have and help with identificating what fish i have .

Tank- aqua one aquience 5ft 450 litre roughly

Filters - 1x fluval 406 1x fluval 306

Filter media - seachem matrix / marine pure balls / poly filter

Substrate - 80 kg tahiti moon sand

Decor - 80kg texas holey rock

Wavemakers - aquaone wavemaker set 2000 x 4

No worries, you have lots of different mbuna there.

In the last pic, the dark one on the top left is melanochromis auratus male. In the third pic down, the one that looks grey/yellow with the barring is (I think) a Saulosi.

The zebra type mbuna with a lot of barring, is a male but I am uncertain about which species.

Strong direct lighting for a long period per day will do that. I have the same in my tank and top rock exposed to the light is completly covered in algae. My tropheus graze on them.
