LucifersJester
Hey peoples! If I was to get a hole saw to cut holes in tanks for plumbing, which size would be the most usefull 32mm, 35mm, 38mm, 45mm ? I am not sure what size plumbing fixtures would be most useful or most common... comments? opinions? Thanks in advance
rosco
colin, Mine are 45mm holes and I have bulkheads that reduce to 25 mm pressure pipe as outlet piping. These are very useful as my 6x2x18's are drilled using these holes cheers Rosco
anchar
We use 35mm often for dropsides and trickle boxes. Andrea
Nigel
I drill 35mm holes for 25mm fittings and 50mm holes for 40mm fittings. It would just depend on the flow rate you would like to run.
LucifersJester
Thanks for that guys... I might get a 45mm and a 35 mm cutter and see how I go
johnwilly1000
i suggest 45mm holes. as my 8fter has 3x 35mmholes an dnow i regret and wish it were 45mm. cause flow rte at full is too noisy so i reduced to half. whis then makes my whole systen water turnover not as i wanted whisc is more
Ash
you can always use plumbing fittings to make a hole effectively smaller - you can't redrill the glass. I'll be getting as big as possible for the next tank I get made.
