snct2
hey James,I've been trying to get hold of good quality peacocks with no luck. Even tried interstate. (Sent you a PM)There is really nothing I could find in Adelaide except occasionally in LFS, poor quality high priced. Also plenty of Hybrids here in Adelaide. I'm trying to setup and breed good quality aulonocara here in Adelaide as I believe there a good market here. Good to see there are people here in Adelaide that has the passion for Aulonocaras.I've got (Still small and only a few, not breeding yet), - Eureka Reds - Dragon bloods - OB marbles - Fire Red - Tangerine
LithoMan
i love peacocksbut moved away from them unless you have a big set up and 100% know you cant mix the femalesmeaning jumping out of fry savers and mixing along the wayone day if i have double the size i will dedicate 3 tier setups just for single peacockbreedersand grow outs

hoody
i was told by respected imported in the UK that in the wild the fish use some sort of clicking to identify the same speicies, but in the aquarium its either not used or forgotten or something. jameswedge
Yeah I've read that fish communicate through a variety of sounds. I would also think that a pheromone would be used to. I do have a few species in a common tank with no evidence of cross breeding. Nature would have its way or there would be tons of hybrids in the lakes.
