High volume airpump noise

MVP

Recommended Posts

I've just bought an LP40 to replace my LP100 due to noise issues as my fishroom is in the house. Unfortunately it appears the sound of the LP40 just isnt quiet enough as the hum runs through the whole of downstairs.

Is there anything i can do to hide that noise? Insulated box of some sort?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

well u can turn the tv up some lol

sorry I have a lp40 and I have a valve open a little and that help with letting the air out some u can try it

Unfortunately, ive tried that and it didnt work. I did notice that when i opened more of the valves there was a happy middle but still has a rattle. I also removed the valve to run it without any resistance but the rattle was still there so its obviously just how it sounds.

It doesnt help that theres no door on the room..

Is it a rattle or just the working harmonics of the pump ?

if it is a rattle does this go away if you disconnect the air line

I would consider taking it back if it was a rattle

if it is the harmonics from the pump running you could get a

block of foam to sit it on

ive got one too and its noisy but outside in the fish room.i ended up for the meantime putting it on the ground and putting some foam and a 5kg bucket with some stuff inside it on top of the pump its a lot quieter.but it only seems to be around the green label on top ill pull it apart one day and work something out
