5uka
Does anyone know a breeder of this African???
Craigo
Correct me if Im wrong but there was a great debate about these fish when they came into the country originally & it was decided they are Nigriventer here in AUS. Macs, could be here but I doubt it...
5uka
Nigriventer is deffinately here. Macrostoma I'm pretty sure is here also just scarce hence why I'm trying to find it

Ged
Andrew from Labyrinth started a long discussion on Macrostoma. Malawi Sand Diver believed that what we had was T. nigriventer "Southern".

5uka
My understanding from the discussion was that Andrew did in fact have the Macrostoma???
Chuckmeister
I seem to remember that the macrostoma came in at the same time as the nigs and also the Rhamphochromis. Missed the ID debate on them though

Chuckmeister
I can only guess but 8 to 10 years ago...I had a bit of a break from fish for a while but i remember them before I left.I seem to recall my lfs having all 3 and all 3 not selling too well. Chuckmeister
i would also try the perth cichlid forum. Not too sure on how many breeders are still on there (I dont use it) but it might be worth a try.
5uka
Yep I tried lol waiting for a response
Chuckmeister
many probably wouldn't know. I remember thinking at the time that the Rhamphochromis would probably get lost fairly quickly just by how long they sat in the tanks at the time. I would have got them all if I wasn't scaling down at the time.

Ged
Chuck this was the discussion that took place at the beginning of 2013It was originally started as part of Andrew advertising some T. macrostoma and then he withdrew them to ensure the authenticity of the fish. http://www.aceforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=55805
5uka
So can anyone confirm Macrostoma are in Australia?
Chuckmeister
I doubt anybody could 100 percent ID the fish without one getting donated to a museum or some place that could technically dissect the fish. The similarities are just too close for a call, either for or against imo.
