Albino Ice Blues ?

I have seven fish that I believe are Albino ice blues, from what I have seen on the web I have six male and one female. These fish were bred by my son from a pair that were sold to him as Ice Blue but they were not albinos, most of the baby fish were like the parents but a small number turned out white with the red eyes. My fish are about 15 months old, a few of them are younger from a second round of babies. I now think that my little female may be acting like she is holding eggs, she is not eating, but I can't see any eggs in her mouth. I don't particularly want to bred fish but if she has eggs I don't really want to watch them get eaten. Are these Albino Ice Blues? Cheers Susan.

:raisehand: Hi Susan and welcome to ACE forums

Metriaclima greshakei

also known as Pseudotropheus or Maylandia greshakei

if they are normal and throw albino fry (red eye) then you

have one that is split to albino

a brooding female usually shows a distended throat and

if she is holding then you either can milk the eggs and

discard or let he hold full term and release

if you are worried about the fry getting eaten then a pile

of rockwork in the back corner can be used as a safe haven

for fry to hide in

My greshakei females are mainly dark brown with a slight tinge of orange on their dorsal fins.

They are also a lot smaller though.
