jameswedge
Ok you tropheus nuts. How do i sex tropheus duboisi? Im pretty sure ive got a female as ive seen her try spawn before. Ive seen a beautiful duboisi at the lfs and think its a male. Its got much longer fins than my female which makes me think male. But i am an aulonocara nut. Link2Hell
vent sexing is best wayif you have kept Tropheus species you can get a general guess just by theway the fish looks in adults but venting is bestmale = o o small vents that are spaced apartfemale = Oo large and small vent that are next to each otherits a matter of look and compare
jameswedge
Yeah but cant exactly vent in a lfs. Toughy. Might just wing it.
Josh
You can do it by head shape. It's not as accurate as venting. Males have a steeper face than females. It's kinda hard if you don't have a few fish to reference off.

Ged
Venting is the most accurate method. Growth rate is another way. Males tend to have a faster growth rate and develop a deeper body sooner.
