Cycling a new tank

Hi guys,

Anyone know where I can source some ammonia for cycling my new tank? I am finding it difficult to source. Even armonium chloride would work. If not, what other ammonia sources could I use to kick start the cycle?

Cheers

Paul

Have you got anger tank running? What I do to kick start my cycles is by cleaning (with water from this tank) out the filter from a running tank and pure this dirty black water into the new tank (new tank water declorined), work fine for me, all the dirty stuff is full of the goodies you need to cycle your tank.

I use a filter that I had running in a tank that been cycled

and run it in the new tank for about a month then clean it in the new tank

and have a 2nd filter running in the tank also at the same time

it works for me

Start with a goldfish or 2 so you have a load in the tank. When you have finished cycling, you can take them back to the shop you got them from. Or put them in a pond if you know anyone with one.

If you know anyone that has a tank and you can pinch a bit of their media, will help a ton.

It can even be some filter wool where you can squeeze it out into the tank.
