Green Chromides

I'm not entirely sure of NSW specific but I dont think they are banned. I doubt they are an allowable import though.

I know 10 years ago they were extremely rare (almost thought extinct fromt he hobby) but I know of at least 2 people that bred them in WA (10 years ago)

Its not much help I know but maybe jump on the Perth Cichlid Society forum and ask there.

Green Chromides are not banned but they are not an allowable import

Terry Rowlands was breeding them years ago but they seem to have disappeared

I found some a couple of years back in Melb but after setting things up for the guy

to get them it all fell through

Good luck if you find them

Hi, Thanks for your reply. I bought 50 of them from Perth about 10 years ago but sold them because I was going overseas to work. The fellow that had them over there does not have them any more.

Regards, Bob

  • 2 weeks later...

Looked at some pics and can see why they are not easlly found not a vibrant coloured fish so lfs can sell regardless of its attitude ie active in tank

With these ban's were going to loose not only sp, but quality

Good luck with your search hopefully you find some
