number of fish

Hi guys,

Just wondering if someone uses the 1 inch per gallon to determine how many fish should you keep in your tank?

I have fronts and are at a 5ft x 2.5ft x 2ft - how many fish should I keep?

well that on how big they are and how big u want them to get

the more fish the less they will grow

I would not put more then 10 in the tank and when they get bigger

I'll drop it to 6

but that's up to u how many u want in there

That one inch rule is bogus. If you have high filtering capacity it can be more and if you have lower it should be less. You will just have to monitor the water, the fish behavior and alot of other factors to determin how many fish to keep in the tank.

Also keeping more fish in a tank is more water changes and maintenance.

If your talking malawis,,, then best to pack them in more then be prepared to weed out as they mature far down the track.

Aggression problems are lessened with denser populations.

As mentioned, good filtration and weekly water changes will suffice.
