666
Hi, I am setting up a new tank for a Red Devil and before I fill it I need guards glued in place to protect the heater and filter tubes. He likes to rearrange his tank and suction caps don't do it. Is there something made for this or what ideas have others tried.
Adzzy
you can get plastic covers for your heater to protect the glass, not sure about the filter tubes but i imagine they should be ok
Link2Hell
if fthe fish just wants to destroy thingsall you can do is partition a corner off and use something likesidedrop plates for the water flow through it or a grate madefrom the base of a bread trayif you use a grate then you will need to silicone retaining guides in
666
The fish love to destroy the tank. I have looked at the heater covers, but he rips the heater off the glass braking the suction caps. Also loves to rip apart the filter tubes, I was hoping some one with large fish may have worked out a way to over come this issue. I have been looking around at different ideas and materials to make some thing being care full chosing a material that doesnt leach into the water.p
mjoconr
Another idea might be to place a foam mat at the back or on one corner and put the heater and filter pickup behind it. Have a look at http://poretfoam.com/
Link2Hell
the foam would only amuse him until he found something else to tear up IMO you need as I said before a grid being egg crate grating or the bottom of a bread traysame as is used to separate big pairs of Americansora set of sidedrop filter platesthe neatest way would be to partition off one corner
