LEDFlouro replacements

My local fishshop uses LED fluorescent tube replacements I believe on his tanks. I do remember him telling me about them some time ago saying it was a cheap alternative to buying LED fixtures complete though I haven't checked on it at all. As a no frills choice they are pretty cheap.

I believe he told me that most wholesale light suppliers have them so maybe try the yellow pages or google and ring a few local ones. Will at least give you an idea on them.

Not sure how reliable they are though.

Hi Mike,

I started replacing my t8 tubes with led replacements when I was running my room and most of them died pretty quickly. Although they were great to start off with after 12 months or so some of them started failing. The leds might be rated for 30,000 hours but I suspect that the inbuilt starters are not. They do run nice and cool and do get down into 2'depths. I also noticed a drop in my electricity usage. I still have two leds tubes running and that is around 2 years down the track. Given they cost fractionally more than proper aquarium lights tubes I don't feel to ripped off just a tad disappointed

Cheers

The led shop in qld had them in 2 and 4 foot lengths but for 3'lengths I found a place in sa on eBay that I was going use directly (i.e not through eBay) but I started shutting down my room.

Cheers
