That Cichlid Guy
Hi can anyone help me out with info about these guys? My mrs has just got some and I want to make sure they are looked after. Cheers, Scott.
Buccal
Same as any zebra mate.Very aggressive with each other and sometimes other species.Diet a little more towards the vege side.
That Cichlid Guy
Ok great, thanks Buccal! What about the difference in colour between male and female? Or do they look the same?
Buccal
Good females roughly seen one in fifteen can look similar to males. In my experience the females are often grey, yellow and orange colors moulded together if that makes sense. The spots on females tend to be more black and grey.Where as males have that purple blue berry like spots that shadow over the black spots. They breed like the clappers.Have plenty of separate territories and/or hide spots.Full size males are super hot,,,, especially under a 16000 kelvin halide light.Note that they love to smash marble peacocks.
