new setup making shure im on the right track

Hi guys new to the forum and chilards in genral just checking im on the right track allso wanting to know a bit about plants and rocks to use

200 ltr tank

2 x eheim 2213 canisters 440l/h each

Been running setup for a few weeks now only just put 2 fish today

1 x blue dolfin

1 x syndontis sp ocellifer

But just starting out

I have a crap load of yellowish white sandstone some with wicked hollows and holes I also have acsess to some stone carving tools so can create a few realy nice pices I have done vinegar tests and no reactions at all was wondering if its possibe to use them and also has any one done this before what effects on the ph does sandstone cause??

Was realy wanting to ancor some plants to the rocks too any sugestions on what plants are best suited to an african chillard setup?

sorry guys, but sandstone will do zip for the water.

limestone will help to keep the water stable

sandstone will become very brittle and can break apart when you try to lift it from the tank. guess which piece you are left holding and which piece falls to the bottom of the tank?

the use of plants in the cichlid tank are very limited ,may be some of the tough sword leaf type may survive. cichlids just love chewing on plants
