Ducksta
One of my peacock bass is obviously gut heavy and it looks like I can make out gravel bulges. I saw it yesterday and figured it would just regurgitate what it needed to but it hasn't. Any thoughts? (Fish ~14cm- not big enough to pass gravel.) Ducksta
Yea I think all I can do is wait and hope he (she?) chucks most of it up. Investigate if the worst happens. It looks to be a few pebbles. Can't think what would cause it to swallow a gobfull.Don't think it is swelling or bloating because you can actually make out the multiple gravel shapes, where swelling is usually a single "smooth" section.Stupid fish... Buccal
I use to have Temensis (850mm!!!!!),,, they could suck a mulie that was 200mm away from them. They would inhale a large area of water whilst sucking up food,, incredible.I've got pcck bass mono now and they are similar in lesser ways.I gues if food sinks to bottom and the inhaling motions to pick up food occurs, then picking up substrate in process is very possible.Being a top ranking predator, they are naturally a pounce or chase and swallow,,,, not use to sifting around the bottoms like many fish are.No substrate with mine.Don't know what your feeding,,, but marine gold high protein pellet gets the yellow and green cranking in them.$70 for 5kg.
