Hi

I am new to the scene of breeding and would appreciate any advice given. I have a pair of male and female red terrors they paired off together from juvenile now mature in a 6x2x2 tank

The female has laid 5 batches of eggs and everytime the eggs turned white because they werent fertilized and were eaten any tips on how i can ensure the eggs are fertilized next time and is it possible for a fish to be sterile ?

Yes - it is possible that one of your fish is sterile.
Have you witnessed the behaviour? Are you sure the male is trying to fertilise them?
Do you have a divider that is maybe stopping the male from achieving his goal?

There is no divider in the tank i have not seen the behaviour i have seen the female protect the eggs and keep the male away i did think of removing the female once the eggs are laid but not sure if this would create a bigger issue. What behaviour should i witness if the male was trying to fertilise. The current is not to strong as i am not using a wave maker (fish dont like it ) i am just using a spray bar from the sump to circulate the water.

it can only come down to a few things

he gets distracted and doesn't make the pass after the eggs are laid

he just isn't interested - does he clean the spawn site with the female

he has a fertility problem
