mjoconr
Hi AllWhat is the best way to get a new canister filter working on a very small tank which does not have enough filtration and where I'll need to remove the old filter to install the new piping ?Background:I have a 22L tank which I moved a small number of fish too after decommissioning my larger tank. The tank is a commercial product which simply does not have enough filtration and I'm having to do water changes ever few days and the bacteria keeps falling into solution. My Ideas:My plan is to fill new filter with water which has prime and stabilise added along with bring the KH up to the current tanks levels. I was thinking of taking the old filter pads and putting them in the filter for a while also.Anything else I could do to help things along, better ideas ?Cheers
Josh
I would do as you said, place all the media from old filter into new one and go from there.
