Hi guys

I have a nice little guy colouring up. I was told that it has an origin in Queensland and she had seen the stunning male parent. Otopharynx lithobates is what she said it was, but other cichlids in the shop are mislabeled and I would have thought the yellow forehead blaze would develop first. It also has a very stocky rather than elongated body. I have an idea it could be any of the following but haven't kept them before so don't know:

Otopharynx sp. "heterodon"

Otopharynx lithobates (location other than Zimbabwe rock)

Placidochromis sp. "blue otter"

Lethrinops sp. "mbasi"

Aulonocara hybrid

It seems too yellow/orange on shoulder and anal and dorsal fin to be a blue otter and too blue to be a Lethrinops.

He's 7cm so still a way to go.

And this is how his side markings looked before he coloured up, a female:
