Shipping fish with Fastway

Has anyone here tried shipping fish with them?

How does it work?

Do I need to get an account with them?

Do they do door to door delivery, is it overnight or same day?

Are their quotes priced reasonably?

There have been a few people use Fastways for door to door shipping. I guess overnight delivery depends on individual locations. Same day would need to be local areas

Fastaways is one of the better couriers .

No account required ,

But they do have a very confusing sticker system that can be used if you plan to use them frequently

as for door to door they would probably pick up but you are best off finding

when the truck leaves to your required destination depending on distance and drop them at the depot.

For example in my case truck leaves Cairns Monday nights gets to Brisbane mid Wednesday.

So if I have a box going to Brisbane fish are purged for two days prior to shipping

with a large water change in the days prior. One third water two thirds oxygen and a few drops of prime or stress coat

and not too many fish per bag , drop them down the depot Monday afternoon never had a problem.

I have sent and received plenty of fish using this method .

Mark.

I do prefer to ship by air .

But with Qantas freight going into the business of highway robbery !

I will be using them a bit more often .

If fish are prepared well they will be fine .

I received some fish 18 months back , largish 10-12 cm one per bag

they were in bags for almost three days they arrived in perfect condition .
