<br>

<br>

Pythons can start taking young (4-5 week old) rats at about 70cm. It is always good to challenge your python with larger meal items, fed less frequently, as it keeps the head growing in proportion to the body.

Cheers,

</P></DIV><DIV id=Atextbox><P><STRONG>Author: leptomaniac</STRONG><BR><BR>I wouldn't handle a python for 7 days after feeding - it takes at least that long for the meal to be digested and they will be snappy until this has occurred. There is also a huge risk of regurgitation if you handle the animal within the first couple of days after feeding.
