myster619
Who here uses the new smaller version of the k1 media? How has your experience with it been so far?
PlecoSam
I have K3 in a wetdry in place of bioballs, they are working quite well, I give them a good stir every week or so to clear of mulm but it seems unnecessary but is a precaution as I have very good mechanical pre filtration. Buccal
I have no experience with it, but I use k1 and k3.I noticed with k3 you need a bit more turbulence to get it tumbling.I also k3 because of its larger size not getting stuck or escaping of my particular set up.So id say that it would tumble easier with less turbulence and mesh or screen Barriers would need to be smaller.Apart from that I couldn't see it being any different.I guess a micro version is made for micro situations,,,, the size to choose depends on your situation. ozmo
I have used K1 micro in internal DIY coke bottle filters but I use K1 and Hel-X in my sumps. I personally prefer the movement I can achieve with regular K1 over any other that I have used.
