What special requirements do they need? I've heard that it doesn't matter how old a turtle is to breed but it has to be a certain size. Once eggs are layed in water they are no good..

As for sexual maturity it depends on size as well as age
Eastern long necks and Murray short necks vary and is usually between 7-15 years old ..
The broad shell depending on size can breed at 4-7 years old

HTH

^Mark^

Author: bulfrogg

warm sand box would work well for incubating eggs
try black poly reticulated system solar heated
can also be thermostaticly controlled
this system is good if you live in a ciold area

system can also be set up under enclosure to keep inhabitants warm all year round

all you need is black poly tubing a small pump and the sun
ah and a thermostat if you want to go real techno

cheers
dave t
