The cichlid Man
Hey there the best substrate for this is bird cage sand (silver sand). I use it in most of my tanks and it works really well. i was originally put onto this method by Nigel and it has worked a treat. Contact me and i can let you know where to get it at a good price. i originally paid $2.50 a kilo from local pet supply stores which is bloody expensive if you have to fill big tanks. But i have found a source in sydney that can get me 20Kg bags for around $6-8 dollars a bag. Regards, Ben
