I keep a few outside year round, they don't like it though.

I went out one morning to find a tank of fish belly.

I noticed some gill movement, so put in a heater.

By the arvo they were up and swimming.

The longest I have had a heater up and running outside was a week.

Fish: fenestratus, salvini, bacourti, pearsi, robertsoni, coatzacolos.

Can I just clarify which season you are talking about.

The three you have suggested may be candidates for placing in summer in a pond but they wouldn't survive over winter.

If you were living in Qld you may have a longer period but here in Sydney they would struggle outside of summer.
