5uka
Hi guys. Just set up a new tank. New filter media although approximately 20% of the water was kept from the old set up. It's been 1 week and ammonia reading is 0,05 which is the lowest it can be on the test kit. But my nitrite reading is o,1. Does this mean my tank has now cycled? Chuckmeister
Sounds a bit strange, normally a tank cycle is longer than that even with a seed. What sort of load have you in the tank?

5uka
That's what I thought also. I tested a few days ago and both ammonia and nitrite were at 0,2. So they hav been decreasing

Boxxa04
As long as the fish are alive & happy. A water change always helps & adds a lot of extra oxygen to the tank.

Fins
What's the ammonia and nitrite reading now? If its still detectable, it means your filter has not fully cycled. Ammonia and nitrite should be undetectable. For future reference for those who don't know, if upgrading to a new tank, use the filter from the old tank, you will probably avoid the ammonia spike. Fins
Its falling quickly. Not long now. I've never seeded a new tank with just old tank water. I'm surprised it cycled in only 1.5 weeks. What else are you planning on putting in the tank?
