Yabbie Dabbie Do
Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are i am going to be running at 1500l racking system and wondering what two heaters i should use in my sump to heat the whole system.
mjoconr
Good question, I assume this will be using the pump you have been talking about in the other thread. So you could try a couple of the inline pumps something like Hydor ETH 200w 16mm. The issue I think with these is you need nice big hoses for the return pump and these only have a 16mm fitting.I just had a Eheim heater (less than 6 month old) which started over heating the water so I've replaced it with a Aqua Zonic Titan G2 600w Heater (600L in my tank). (I'll warranty it later)As to if this was a good idea ? no idea I assume heaters are one thing which price does really does matter on.I'm thinking with my first rack that I might put a normal heater in a pipe with a rubber seal around the end but have this at the top of the rack in the low pressure return. It will be a little like the Hydor but not be taking any pressure. Idea from the King of DIY HOW TO: Build an inline heater AND hang on the back. Hutto05
I run my rack on two jager 300w and never had any problems. One was new and one was second hand. Run them through a thermostat and it's easy to control temp.

PlecoSam
No way, granted it has its positives but its Boganville, women dress like escorts, people can't drive, hate cyclist, are ignorant and rude! We must have the fattest population in all of Australia too.
Chuckmeister
Personally I think Jager 300 watt heaters are amongst the best for relitively low water volumes. They heat to 1000 liters.I have had one blow up and one stop working though but no heaters last forever except maybe the old school heaters that were made out of 1/4 inch wire The one that blew up was when eheim took over Jager and there was a faulty batch and my last one just stopped recently after about 8 years. They are a pretty safe bet imo.In fact I still have a vid on the blown heater. Gotta tell you when any heater blows they normally go big time. Mine was banging the glass from side to side hitting the tank and flashing huge blue balls of electricity. what was left was a completely split heater from top to bottom, filled with water.
