Nice trets are pretty good parents, until dad does a midnight snack run.

mine were easily producing 200 fry a batch sooooo many little fishes lol...

easiest way is day 8 after hatching remove the cave, day 10 they go exploring..

I would warn you but I guess you have seen how protective they can be ( wait till he is 14cm! ouch)

I left a few in the tank with the parents just to see how they go with them. I put in a divider also just to keep the other 7 trets out from temptation

gd question Ged.ive often experimented with that doing the same amount of water changes etc i found with my mustax i had a better survival rate if left with the parents for atleast two weeks maybe longer say 3 weeks to a month.but i did noticed a few losses when i removed the parents or put the fry in a floating basket or floating tank stuck to the inside of my 5 ftr with a small sponge filter.

always liked the trets and congrats on the spawn Stepod

was thinking about getting kevs ones but didnt have spare tanks.one day ill get them again

Bit of an update on the tret fry, I have around 20 odd left and going strong in the fry saver!

They are all growing well considering they are only being fed on growth formula. I'm not set up with brine shrimp yet but when we move into our new house in a couple of weeks I can set something up for future spawns.

I'll get a video up later of the fry

They are growing out.

I have had problems with that type of fry saver in the past. It didn't allow enough water exchange from the tank into fry saver and as a result water quality inside the fry saver suffered. I had to be conscious to place the fry saver where there was sufficient water flow from the sump return.

This is my first time using one of these Ged so it's new to me. I have put a air stone on the other side of the divider which is helping with water turn over and it seems to be doing the job.

These guys are growing quite well, as we are moving in a couple of weeks I'm hoping that they will survive!
