tankbuster
Morning folks, A few weeks ago I managed to score 4 aulonocara kandeensis juvies, and I'm currently setting up a 60 gal 2 ft grow out set up for the four before I introduce 2 into my display. I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these gems.I've been reading profiles on them and will probably look into breeding them if I can get some diverse stock. Any pointers are welcome!!Cheers
malawi sand diver
I haven't kept kandeensis, but I've kept aulonacara maylandi before which is a similar sized small aulonacara. They are not as assertive as the larger aulonacara, so tank mate selection is important. However, when they are the dominant fish, they look awesome.
tankbuster
What kind of tank size would suit a group of 5 to 6 juvies? I currently have a 2 foot 60 gal system with 3 in there. Would this do temporarily?
firthy13
How big are they? That would be Ok until the males start colouring up at 7-8 cm. Ideally a 4 ft would be best for them.
tankbuster
They're pushing 4 cm at the moment and I'm looking at housing 5 or 6 on a two tier system with 3 ft tanks.. does anyone breed them? As I'd love to get my hands on 10 in total. They've hands down quickly become my favourite peacocks. Even when coloured down they have this regal look to them..
