Coming up I need to go away for a few dats and don't really have anyone I can trust to feed my nursery tank ? I don't want the Babies to die while I am away. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding how to leave them feed? Can I use those gold fish all day sucker cube things ?

Vouch for the Eheim auto feeders. Use them on all my tanks, all the time. Started using them for holidays and was so impressed that I left them on all the time. I have three on each tank, with different size pellets,in three different locations ( 6ft tanks). On my 3ft grow out tank I have one feeder using NLS grow. The only tank I hand feed is the one I have my old Oscar in ( but then he is more a like a 35cm dog anyway!!)

Do test it for a few days before leaving!!

Cheers, Lou

  • 2 weeks later...

The auto feeders will serve your purpose fine.

To safen the situation,, get the smallest size ones and get 3.

Set each one to a third of your required total.

This means if one has operating difficulties in any way,, then it's only one third effected.

Hello,

I've always been told not to trust auto feeders. I'm Feb I'm going away for 3 weeks. Do you think I could trust the Eheim for that amount of time? How long to the batteries last in them?

I ran 3 eheim auto feeders (1 per tank) for 7 weeks without a problem.
