simy696
got myself a jebo bio-chemical filtration system of rotating jet and dripping type / was going to use tank bulk heads to connect my existing sump to it and run one side of my tank to sump and the other to return on jebo. with the jebo pump pumping back to hydra stream1 and back to tank and heater inside the jebo and thoughts on this idea? Josh
While you probably have described it properly, my simple mind does not compute. Any chance of your setup so I can picture it?
simy696
um havent set it up yet that was the? bought the jebo sump has a pump and drawers with a spinning spray thingy above the drawers have cut the hole in bottom of jebo and added tank conector or bulk head to it will attach tank connector tomorrow morning to sump and join the two together with a non return letting flow from sump to jebo sump tomorrow morning at water change time. then ill remove existing pump from existing sump and let the jebo pump be the provider for the tank. and one overflow box will feed into existing sump and one into jebo sump allowing spray thingy too doo its work. Teamsherman
What is a Jebo sump?I just did some googling and they are pretty much a canister filter type of filter but don't fill up with water completely so have the benefit of dry filtration as well. They look pretty cool but you could probably make a better one yourself much cheaper with a set of plastic filing drawers from IKEA or the likes. simy696
only payed $150 from a store closing down so im thinking maybe in front as a pump that size i guess would be nearly that price.any way all fitted together but one side of tank aint enough to make it spin. and my back flow device didnt work between the two sumps as not enough pressure to open the seal but pulled the spring out of it and it is a good barrel union and figured i may not need it any way. it also was a perfect fit for the gap i had left and should increase my sump size enough to cope with a pump failure and the overflow boxes emptying into them. it also fitted the heater at the bottom which i couldnt get into my sump. simy696
the spray bar? just sits there im guessing the amount of pressure it now gets is reduced as the jebo pump is pumping the water up to the tank but half of the water is going to sump and half to the spray bar. Link2Hell
you say you can't spin it by hand ?do you mean it won't turn when you spin it by hand to start it
simy696
yeah its quite tight by hand even, must build up pressure behind it when the holes get dirty which then causes it to spin and as i have reduce the amount of return to it by half not enought pressure im guessing, maybe if i block up some holes or get a bigger pump? simy696
Just an update got myself a second hand wet dry sump and installed yesterday. Had to nearly empty tank drag it off the wall and slide it in from the back only way it would fit in there. Lots of mopping done and sore muscles today but just need a few balls in the bottom of wet dry section, and hopefully a completed set up with some good filtration. Also the jebo spray spins well now.
