Other Ed
http://www.cichlids-aust.com/diy.html just a note, I find my ones of there are a real pain to clean. I get small bits of gravel from the filter everywhere. I may be doing it wrong though. Had thoughts of putting a lid with lots of small holes and one big hole for the bottle, but not done yet. Ed. Red Tail Shark
cheers ed much appreciated and i think a lid would fix your problem with the gravel Cheers Cal
Matthew
G'day I used to have a lid on all of my icecream filters. Now none have lids and the filters are cleaned when I gravel vac the tank (and the filter at the same time. ) Sorry it doesn't solve the spilt media problem, but it is a lot easier to maintain. PS. You could use containers with higher sides. This does work although not with some species of course . Also I recommend that you use plastic - screw together airstones. These will not block up irreversibly as they can be easily cleaned. Matthew
