What do you guys think can I use any silicone that says 100% and clear with no additives like Dab or GE? Or do I have to go with the aquarium safe stuff?

I use Selley's Window and Glass sealant. It is labeled as safe for aquariums, and I've had no problems. A small tube costs about $5

As long as the silicone is "Acid cure" it should be ok.

It will smell like vinegar until after it cures. Just make sure it doesn't say "do not use in aquariums"

I've always used the selleys window and glass stuff as well, with no problems.

Hi guys,

<br>

I have always used the ordinary Selleys window and glass sealant but talking to tank makers, they recommend the one that has ascetic acid in it. Apparently the ascetic acid grips into the glass for better adhesion. They both smell like vinegar to me.
