The pink belly and the short front dorsal rays are what I'm looking at.

Link2Hell
It's a boy from what I can see notice there is no spangling in the mid body spot look for lots of sparkles if you want a girl ... suppose it's a bling thing
daimen84
Your talking about this photo right? I can see the colour over the body spot. Am i missing something? Sent from my SM-N920I using Tapatalk
Link2Hell
no comment of first pic to compare sorry as this pic is unclear in marking like it is new to the tank and hasn't settled in yet
Buccal
I'm game enough to say female, as already stated, pink belly,,, and Definetely makes me more comfortable saying it, looking at the dorsal spikes.... You'd be unlucky if it matured into a male.

Buccal
I'm going to say don't worry,,, 95% chance female. These things go through often breeding cycles and start young to,,, the female every 2-3-4 weeks will get a swollen area around anus slightly before the egg tube shows for a day or two,,, it may be starting now,,, keep looking in that area,,, once this starts happening you'll know instantly,, but it's looking extremely female to me. (Looking at last pic). the males black spot on side flank are usually slightly bigger and darker,, and usually has the blue spangling spots gathered around edge of black spot and some blue spots going into the large black spot,,,, where as females black spot stays lighter and usually has not much blue spots around the black spot and none inside of black spot. jakefoster
from my experience females have blue speckles through their black spot whereas males the middle is a solid black. no blue through it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
