Southwestroyalty
Contemplating a new playground for my 5 salmon tails,a Saratoga leichardti I'll be picking up over the next couple of days ( only around 7cm) and a couple of my L001 about 15cm mark and a common plec about 30cm...Tank size I'm thinking is L-5ft x W2.5ft x H-3ft, after a bit of feed back on some other tank mates?Hoping for a TSN or iridescent shark, maybe a few large clown loaches or maybe a few mono Sabae? Alex
Hi A 5x2.5x3 isn't going to be big enough for TSN or ID sharks, both require very large tanks. TSN are prone to busting their faces up in tanks that are too small. You are better off making the tank 3' wide rather than tall, height won't give you anymore capacity to keep these large growing fish, width and length will. I have kept both of these species of fish extensively and grown both to some incredible sizes. You are going to need a tank with a floor print of 8x3 in my opinion and experience. Ged
i agree the wider tank has more advantages over a taller one.
DWBN
3ft tall if a great looking display tank, but a royal PIA to work with. You will need a step ladder for everything and even then, won't be able to reach in a pick something up off the bottom.
