NSWCS October Major Auction

there is no pre alert list for what turns up on the day

half the time I don't think the sellers know until the day

the sellers lots are randomised through the 8 rounds

so they all get a fair spread through the day

going on how the auctions have run I'm guessing

it should finish about 10.30pm depending on if all

lots handed out show up and if there are any

problems with the computer side

other than that we try to keep it rolling through at

a fast pace so we can all get done as early as possible

Anyone bringing Dragon Bloods or rusty cichlids?

Looking for a splash of red in my predominantly blue (cobalt blues, yellow tail acei) and yellow (elec yellow) tank

Would be my first auction. Kinda pumped to attend

NSWCS does not allow the sale of hybrids at meetings as the club is for the keeping of true strain species

this removes any non species specific Aulonacara like OB and Dragon Blood

Iodotropheus sprengerae do show up for sale but there is no guarantee there will be any

t3v0r0 that's why we're here to answer questions and swap knowledge and enjoy our fish :thumb

the only "Red" species that stands out would be a Tropheus moliro, chimpimbi or Bulu Pt (kirschfleck) varients

or a Jewel (Hemichromis sp.) neither are Lake Malawi but either would hold there own with Mbuna

Red Empress Protomelas taeniolatus is about as red as Malawi get

everything else with a red description is usually orange/gold like Copadichromis red kadango

one more sleep to auction time

wohooooooooooo

and the bad thing is my new fish room will

not be done for 2 more week

when the new tanks come in

I was hoping to have it done for the auction

so I can full it up but ill have to wait

going from 18 tanks to 30 tanks

I wish

they have not been made yet

I have to wait for all the other work to be done before I can do that

the wiring, a/c, painting ,and the new rugs to be done

and then put up the racking

and I have to get it all done by the 12th

we move on the 13th

and I have to get all the tanks I have setup here moved over there

and the new tanks come in the 15th

fun lol

I liked only 400 lots so it was early finish ..... all done finished and locked up by 9pm

there were lots of Cobwe but the gee there were some of the best young males

I've seen in a long time in those bags

I thought it was win/win with most sellers getting good prices on their fish and the

buyers getting some good quality stock

stand outs for me other than the Cobwe were Tropheus chimpimbi, N beusheri, Red Empress group,

Firemouth pair, nice range of L numbers, Burundi - Kigoma & Kala Frontosa, Tropheops chilumba,

good range of Mbuna and Haplachromides

Firemouths?? Phew, glad I missed them. Yes I came home and checked out my afra. He still looks awesome :unsure but have to agree they were terrific looking fish. Had a great time met some old friends made some new ones. Okay I left slightly early but the wife was happy. So all in all a great night.
