pat williamson
We have Argyrostictus , Abalios (these have been called Aripuana1 and Columbia Venezuaela) , We have a few altifrons varieties eg tocantins. We have leucosticta and most likely NO jurupari .Some will dispute this but I would use the following site as a good resource I reckon its fairly accurate , regards Pat.http://www.eartheatersau.net/index.php?page=main

RonnyM
My avatar is of my old Columbian venezuelans which I haven't seen since I sold my colony a few years ago.I have since seen Argyrostictus in a few shops recently. Most of what we had labelled as Surinamensis were actually brachybranchus.Another species I've seen around are Rio Branco and Rio Pindare which are also beautiful geos. Here's a few pics of my alpha male

fishguts
could this be the start of a geo revival????????if you can get onto some argrystictus, do soRecipe for argry success*get yourself about 6.*put them in a tank (min 4ft) with a fairly high flow rate*use a spray bar fixed at one end of tank.as these fish are found at the foot of small waterfalls in streams*mix the substrate with river sand and fine gravel (around 3mm)*Add rocks and timber (to create eddy's)*always feed by dropping food in front of spray bar flow.*add blood worms.(at least once a week) *Heat to around 26C.Watch intently for about 3months.(best done at night from darkened room)tank light only.enjoy served with cold beer

ozarowana
There are a few cvs around now. Altifrons types are getting a bit scarce though. Heaps of tapajos OH, not too many araguaia OH. Still a lot of mislabeling happening.Alex, any chance of a pic of your abalios?
Wilsta
Its a shame that some lfs still have no idea on labelling geos correctly. How do these lfs not know what fish they stock.
