hi,

the males are just starting to push each other around

i have 5 males and 15 females in a 4x2x18

trying to decide what males to keep for breeding

some have a nice blaze thats starting to come out

but some have an almost purple colour with not much of a blaze

i am thinking of using the purple guys and hope the blaze come later.

cheers mark

hi mbuna got them of a bloke in brisbane the parents came in through meng

as for the murderous gay pretty boy pictured below turned into a dud !

he killed one male and two females [ all german imports ] .

i was so wrapped to get him some nice females and he just went nuts !!!

i just lost patience with him and put him back in the display tank

cant work out why .maybe the fact he basically didnt see a female for near two years when he was in the big tank.

i will see what happens i may try him with a few of the F 1 females when they are larger.

cheers mark

Sorry to hear that you lost some of your imports.

Some fish temperaments change radically when their conditions change. I had a colony of Saulosi living harmoniously in a two foot tank. Rewarded them for all their hard work with a larger abode (4 footer) and the male went ballistic and attacked every female. I had to separate him and get a new male. He never calmed down and lived out his days in a display tank.
