has anybody seen fish going by either of these names in the shops.

I recently bought a fish called a "Chocolate cichlid" which turned out to be C.Septemfasciatus....

Now I need to find a female. If you have seen fish called either.... please let me know.

This is the fish...

Now that looks like a chocolate to me...

But it looks nothing like my boy!

C.Septemfasciatus are in the same family as Convicts.

My one is very active. It has set up camp in a pile of rocks and it constantly

faces off with the pair of C. Spirillum.

I'm hoping that the company that sold the septem. to the shop that i bought mine from will have sold some to other shops somwhere and i can track some down and get a girl for mine. Keep your eye out for "strange looking chocolates" ;)

But you are right they are fantastic fish.

We can only dream and drool.......

There seems to be a lot of spirullum around lately.

lots of males but fewer females. I have a pair with fry now.

Still you never know. We might see some of these species in the future.

Nice photos BTW.

The 2 images you posted from other sites...the top is C septemfasciatus ......

the bottom is C myrne

so....

Your fish is most likely C septemfasciatus (or a hybrid?)

head shape is a bit more pointed than Cryptos I have?

Got any better photos of your fish?
