swim bladder problem

I have a 4yo blue dolphin who has recently developed a swim bladder problem. He now floats or swims with his tail up and has trouble swimming level.

I am guessing there isnt much I can do but watch him dye from exhaustion :(

Sounds like the opposite problem. He now has trouble keeping on an even keel and is swimming with difficulty on his side. Looking pretty exhausted so I dont think he will live for much longer. :cryblow:

Yeah, some I dont mind loosing but others become friends. I got him and his brother from Ducksta many years ago at 4cm and they were from excellent stock (Brisbane I think). They grew up to be big boof-headed brothers with noggins the size of an old-man snapper. They are an excellent blue with a slight irridescent sheen. I'll dig out some photos and post as a tribute to him once he is gone.

If you keep the water conditions top notch (possibly a hospital tank with the same parameters to limit stress from other fish annoying him) it may heal itself.

One of my red devils is battling a similar issue atm, he seems to be slowly getting better.

Does yours have a pronounced lump on its side?
